Apparition

My bedroom's door

I saw a ghost. At 7:30 this morning, I was laying in my bed, half awake. I heard a thud against the door of my room, as if one had suddenly thrust his shoulder on it, or had dropped a backpack or a suitcase. The door opened at suddendly, showing a dark, masculine silhouette, slightly bent forward. It then closed, as fast as it had opened.

At first I thought it was Tammy, I turned over, trying to get back to sleep. But I soon changed my mind: how and why Tammy would thus force the door of my room at this time in the morning? My heart started pounding, I got up, I opened the door, I listened. No sound. On my left, Tammy's bedroom door remained closed and silent. I toured the house. Nothing. Back in my room, I took a brief peek into the wardrobe, just to be sure.

I sat in my bed in turmoil. I tried to calm down. For a brief moment, I thought I heard a breath, like a gasp, coming from who knows where.

Despite my efforts, I could never go back to sleep.
