How to get there
The "hibernating device" has been installed on the south hill of Crocus Bluff just before my leaving to Beirut. A few of my friends have already seen it. Here are the directions for the people in Dawson who would like to pay it a visit. Please let me know if you enjoy it and if it's still making any sound.
Here's how to get there...
- Go up to the Crocus Bluff "parking" following Mary McLeod Road (that's the place with the big "Crocus Bluff Recreation Site" sign as is shown on that post
- Take the path from there and follow it until you cross another path
- Make it to the left and walk until you reach the hillside (there are two interpretation signs there)
- Make it to the left again and follow the path that goes along the ridge
- Pay attention: about 20 meters from there you should see a tree with an orange ribbon on your right (if it's still there)
- Go down the hill following the orange ribbons, you'll find the work about 20 meters downhill
Note: The sound comes out of the holes on top of the piece, you have to get your ear really close to it as there is a lot of sound pollution around due to the highway downhill.
