The fruits are in the tree

Last week pasted so quickly... Friday, I thought we were still on Wednesday. I don't even know when it started. What day exactly did I move to the land, connecting several electrical extensions to get to that lonely little tree in the backyard.

I installed everything. The blowers, the condoms, the wires, the sensors, everything. I even dug the hole to put the electric box containing the precious circuit.

It works. Well, basically. Still get some tuning to do, especially with the sunset-detection thing. But I'm happy. It actually looks good! I knew it, somehow, but still, they could have looked really silly and bad, these condoms. But I knew it, somehow, I could see it in my head, how nicely the colors would mix in the sunset: the green of the leaves, the yellow and red wires, the translucent yellowish texture of the condoms.

I'm finishing up this week, setting up the last details and making the video documentation.

what happened to the fruits?

Hello Sofian,

Your idea to put condoms in a tree seemed strange and I must say doubtful to me at first. Seeing the pictures I have been surprised at how they fit in, as if they are real fruits. You can imagine a strange floral scent coming from them. What happens on the long run? Do they fall off? Do they attract bugs? Maybe you could spray them with fruit juice and see what happens...

Ant trap

Thanks for your comment. In the long run, the latex mets under the sun, as is revealed in that post. Also, that tree was really an ant nest. I was afraid to get bitten, but they were nice little ants: they were the ones afraid of me. Everyday, I would find some of these ants inside the condoms, unable to get out, like in a trap. Then the condom would eventually melt around them and kill them.
